Menu Kraków is joining the New Agreement

On 27 November 2025, at the Office of the Mayor of the City of Kraków, two additional contemporary art institutions in Poland joined the New Agreement on Minimum Artist Fees. On behalf of MOCAK – the Museum of Contemporary Art in Kraków, the agreement was signed by Adam Budak, while Delfina Jałowik signed on behalf of the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery of Contemporary Art. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Civic Forum for Contemporary Art by Antoni Burzyński, Monika Drożyńska, Katarzyna Górna, and Marta Romankiv.

The signing of the New Agreement was made possible thanks to the support of the Mayor of the City of Kraków, Aleksander Miszalski, for an initiative guaranteeing minimum fees for participation in exhibitions at municipal institutions. The involvement of local authorities in the process led by the Forum, aimed at changing the perception of artistic labour and developing systemic solutions, marks a breakthrough moment for us. This stance points to directions for change that we hope will be adopted nationwide.

The process leading to the signing of the New Agreement by Kraków’s art institutions began with Adam Budak, the newly appointed director of MOCAK, expressing the institution’s readiness to join the Agreement. The dialogue was also significantly supported by Daria Gosek-Popiołek. As a result of several months of discussions, and thanks to the supportive position of the Mayor of the City of Kraków, we were able to take another joint step toward establishing good standards of cooperation with artists and implementing systemic solutions.
